Preamble Holy Angels’ English Medium Higher Secondary School, Adoor, situated on the city where different cultures and religious heritage merged together, was established by the Late Metropolitan Arch- bishop of Trivandrum, Most Rev. Dr. Benedict Mar Gregorios in 1964. The school is owned and managed by the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum. One of the primary Apostolate of the Major Arch- diocese of Trivandrum concerns its service in the field of Education. For the last 86 years, the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum has been rendering excellent services to the society by providing quality education to thousands of students across the nation. Its goal in its educational undertakings has always been something more than the ordinary, something more than the mediocre. Through its Educational institutions, the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum has tried to reach out to all sections of the society, without at the same time compromising on quality, values and excellence. The educational programme of the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum is guided by the principles and the universal values of the Gospels. The School belongs to the Malankara Catholic Archdiocese of Trivandrum. Patron His Beatitude Moran MorBaselios Cardinal CleemisCatholicos, the Major Archbishop of Trivandrum, is the Patron of the school. There are three streams of schools under the ownership of the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum, namely, ICSE/ ISC Schools, CBSE Schools and Kerala State Board schools. The State Syllabus Schools function both in the aided and unaided sectors. Objectives The school provides each student with the best education possible based on the fundamental human values. Each student is helped to develop a wholesome personality for which due emphasis is given in the curriculum for intellectual, physical, moral and spiritual growth. A sense of social awareness and responsibility is created in the growing child, making him/her self reliant. The programme of education implemented in this school aims at forming fine human persons, forming worthy citizens for our nation, who are committed to the sublime values of our nation. History The Holy Angels’, U.P. School was started in 1964 by His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Benedict Mar Gregorios O.I.C, Archbishop of Trivandrum and the Nursery School was inaugurated in 1972 by Dr. Paul Kallukkaran F.R.C.S, a private feeder School annexed to the U.P.S. The U.P. School was upgraded to function as an unaided English Medium High School and was formally inaugurated on the 10th of August 1976 by the Honourable Minister Mr. Baby John in the presence of His Grace Benedict Mar Gregorios, Metropolitan Archbishop of Trivandrum. It became a complete High school in 1978-’79, with all the standards from V to X permanently recognized by the Department. The First standard of Primary section was started on the 17th of September 1979 under Government orders and Std. II to IV were subsequently sanctioned in the following years so that by the academic year 1982-’83 the school became a complete High school with all the standards from I to X sanctioned and perma- nently recognized by the Government of Kerala. The Nursery is functioning as a Private Primary feeder school. The School became a Higher Secondary School on July 2002. Motto: The motto of the School is “ Love, Service and Truth. Courses offered The school prepares the students for the 10 years S.S.L.C. Examination which is recognized for admission to the Plus two courses. The School also offers Plus Two course, equivalent to the Higher Secondary courses giving eligibility for admission to degree and professional courses. The medium of instruction is English and the students are expected to speak only English within the school campus. Malayalam and Hindi are compulsory languages for standards I to X.
